Tejas Spring Clowning Workshop
Saturday, April 10th, 9am – 3pm
Meadow Creek Community Church
1729 Gross Road in Mesquite, Texas

Current program for the workshops are make-up and costuming (with Anastaia “Wee Zee” Schimdt demonstrating augusté, and Tricia “Lollipop” Craft demo’ing whiteface. We’ll also have face-painting, juggling, home-made magic, and balloons. This will be different from our fall workshop in that it will be full hands-on, not just lecturing.

Cost will be $5 for club members, $25 for non-members.

Officer Nominations

The Nominating Committee of Anastasia “Wee Zee” Schmidt and Iwana “BeBe” Virgil are making the following recommendations for Tejas Klown Club officers for 1999-2000:

Reminder, from our bylaws, from Article III: Board of Directors, section B...

QUALIFICATION AND ELECTION
The members of the Board of Directors shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Parliamentarian, and will serve for a term of one year.
1) No officer shall succeed himself/herself in that office for more than three (3) consecutive terms. (revised, 4/98; previously: “Officers can hold the same office for two (2) consecutive terms only.”)
2) Office of the President can only be held by a present or past board member.
3) Husband and wife can not serve on the Board of Directors during the same calendar year.
4) Must be a member of the parent organization, Texas Clown Association. (added, 4/98)
5) Attend 75% of officer meetings and general meetings. (added, 4/98)

G. NOMINATION
A nominating committee shall be appointed by the President to nominate members for officers. Members may be nominated for office from the floor but nominee must be present at the meeting and agree to serve.
H. ELECTION
All of the officers must be members in good standing of the Texas Clown Association, and shall be elected by a majority vote of the membership present one month prior to the annual business meeting (May) of the Alley each year, except as set forth in Article III, section D of these by-laws. (revised, 4/98; previously: “All of the officers must be members in good standing of the Texas Clown Association, and shall be elected by a majority vote of the membership present two months prior to the annual business meeting of the Alley each year, except as set forth in Article III, section E of these by-laws.”)
I. INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS
There will be installation of officers at the May meeting.
 


Meetin’ Minutes

TEJAS CLOWN MEETING February 1st,1999
Meeting was called to order by Mike Stephens at 7.35pm. Mike Blanton said the prayer.
Chris Autell made a motion to except the minutes posted in the Tejas Tattler this was seconded by Michelle Bodnarchuk, the membership agreed

TREASURER No report.

OLD BUSINESS
Workshop for April 10th,1999 . We will have this workshop at the Meadow Creek Church at 1729 Gross Rd.  The cost will be $100.00. A motion was made by Jeanie Williams to accept this price, seconded by Trich Croft. The membership were is favor and a check was written to the church. Mike Stephens will take care of seeing the check goes to the right people. Grenda Walton will prepare the workshop needs and Michelle will see to it that the info goes in the Dallas Morning News.

NEW BUSINESS:
Chris Autell made a motion to give people 3 minutes talk time at meetings, meeting are so long and they are cutting into our fun part of the evening. This was seconded by Grenda Walton and the membership agreed. Any events that need to be listed in the Tejas Tattler should be forwarded to Mike Stephens also our members should read the newsletter before attending the meeting so we don't have to cover all the information again.
We have the elections coming up in May and a Nominating committee was formed to ask members if they would like to be on the board. This committee consists of Anastasia and Be Be.
It was suggested last month that the membership bring to the meeting some ideas for convention workshops. These very interesting suggestions were heard.

Meeting adjoined at 8:25pm and a session of Facial movements was conducted by Mike Stephens. Good food thanks once again to Jeanie Williams.

Convention Meetin’ Minutes

February 2nd, 1999.
Mike called the meeting to order.7pm.

REGISTRATION FOR CONVENTION. 17 people have registered. Two checks were returned for insufficient funds. A form letter was sent out to both parties and they have two weeks to make good there checks for the special $65.00 registration. If checks are not received by then they will pay the higher  registration price.
MISC: Grenda asked that all member collect candles from Garage sales etc, she also pointed out that she had a button machine and Mike would find a use for this. Iwana Virgil once again came up with goodies, wonderful folders for the convention program book, 150 velvet pen holders and she has made 92 Bandana's at this date. Grenda has several Personal Alarm Systems for auction.

Mike informed us he has now seen the video tapes from last years convention and they were quite good so he will look into this.

A motion was made by Mike Stephens to end the 7 pm convention portion of our meeting,  this was seconded by Michelle membership agreed. Mike as convention chairperson will have his own meetings with each committee.

Meeting was closed at 7.35 pm to resume regular meeting.

Next Meetin’

The next meeting of the Tejas Klown Club will be on Tuesday, March 2nd, 7:30pm at Galloway Avenue Baptist Church.
The Tejas Klown Club Officers will be meeting on Monday, March 8th, at 7:00pm at the IHOP in Mesquite.
The April meeting will be held on April 6th, at 7:30pm.

Tattler Deadline

The Tejas Klown Club meets the first Tuesday night of the month at Galloway Avenue Baptist Church, 2020 North Galloway Avenue (south of Highway 80 on Galloway), starting at 7:30PM, in the Fellowship Hall. Please come to the entrance on the north side of the church.
